The village of Azillanet is situated in the heart of the Minervois region, between the sea and the mountains, 35 kms from the Mediterranean coast. With its 378 inhabitants, the village is built at the foot of the hills leading to the Causse, with the Cathar village of Minerve only 3 kms away.

The county town, Olonzac, with its 1500 inhabitants, is 5 kms away. A short distance away is the Canal du Midi as well as the Lake of Jouarres (8 kms), with its beach, café-restaurant and good swimming.
